I know all the colours of Joseph's Coat!

Call me sad if you like, but I've known all the colours in Joseph's coat since I was at school. I keep thinking that one day a question will come up in a quiz and people will be amazed at my incredible knowledge. Now it's all going to be spoiled.

Saturday nights are saved again! I had heard that ALW was doing a "Maria School" lookie likey with Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. He's calling it "Any Dream Will Do", surprise surprise. Couldn't think of a better name myself, except maybe "red and yellow and pink and green.... etc" Don't think that would work somehow, there are 29 colours plus 27 "ands", a bit of a mouthful for the TV guide!

Here they are (without cheating, and without the "ands")

  • Red
  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Brown
  • Scarlet
  • Black
  • Ochre
  • Peach
  • Ruby
  • Olive
  • Violet
  • Fawn
  • Lilac
  • Gold
  • Chocolate
  • Mauve
  • Cream
  • Crimson
  • Silver
  • Rose
  • Azure
  • Lemon
  • Russet
  • Grey
  • Purple
  • White
  • Pink
  • Orange
  • Blue
Edit: I've decided this subject calls for a blog of its own so I'm going to move it over to a new spot.

Belly Dancing Costume - how hard can it be?

Oh hell, I have no idea where to start. This really isn't my thing, but in my wisdom decided that it would be different from the norm, and give the dads in the audience something to keep them from falling asleep or going to the pub.
So I need a belly dancing costume and fast.

I mean, how hard can it be, it's only a bit of flimsy fabric with a few fake coins right? Alright, I tried that (it would help if I could sew), but it was crap. And the chocolate melted.

So back to the drawing board, or ebay.

Dancing With The Stars

I've been so caught up with things this week that I missed all the hype about Heather Mills in Dancing With The Stars. As far as I know we don't get the program in the UK, so I'm watching clips on the DWTS website.

Nobody told me it's a clone of Strictly Come Dancing. Even down to Len Goodman & Bruno Tonioli on the judging panel! Huh, I definitely need to get out more - well out of the PC zone and into the TV area.

I was having a panic attack last week when Dancing On Ice finished, but this is not a rare occurence, it happens with X Factor, Fame Academy, So You Think You Can Dance etc etc. It's like being on prozac, you get dependent on it and then have withdrawal symptoms when it ends!
What will I look forward to this week??

Update (after a quick look at the TV Schedule) - Dancing On Ice Champion of Champions, Saturday 24 March ITV 18.40. I want Bonnie to win, I reckon "she was robbed" last year.

Update on Millions:
Sorry not much to tell today. The most exciting thing that happened today (well yesterday now), was that my blog's been indexed, I think. Dance Teacher Makes Millions might not have been the best title to use now that I've done a bit more research, but hey we've all gotta start somewhere!

Dance Teacher training to be an internet guru

Tap or ballet? Modern or Jazz? Hiphop or Swing? Ballroom or latin?

Where do you start, which one appeals to you the most? Just because you love the gorgeous ballroom costumes on Strictly Come Dancing doesn't mean that it's the best style for you.

Another thing to consider is what kind of person you are. Do you like to analyze things, or like to have specific instruction? In that case you might find that going for tap dancing would suit you best as it usually has a defined rhythm and steps.

On the other hand if you like to just "go as you please" then perhaps hiphop or freestyle would be more your thing.

If you'd like to whirl round with a handsome/pretty partner, go for ballroom dancing or Latin American and you get the added bonus of the sequin costumes.

Whatever style you like, wherever you live, however you do it doesn't matter, as long as you're dancing!

Update on millions:

Clicks today - None. Earnings to date $0.59/£0.30.

I have been out teaching so haven't had much time to "optimise" my new blog today. It hasn't been indexed on Google yet either, but I'm working on it.

I have earnings in my Adsense account!

Yeehah - my adsense account shows earnings of $0.59! (about £0.30). I'm so excited, considering that my new site hasn't even been launched yet, and it doesn't have anything in it other than a quick "coming soon" message.

I have to admit that the domain name was one I had bought ages ago and it did have the same content as the dancing school website for a while, so I'm cheating a bit here as it was probably linked to a couple of directories at the time, and peeps might have old links to it.

To me though, it doesn't matter. The point is that if I can get (only) 105 visitors in a few days without any work, it can only get better.

Only $999999.41 to go (£508281.71).

  • Step 2 - Get this book now. It's the best thing I've ever done in my whole life.

How to make profits from your Dancing School Website

My aim to turn my small website into big business starts here. I'm not talking about internet marketing for the sake of it though. I want to create something worthwhile AND make money in the process.

I've had my own website for a few years, promoting my local dance school business. It was easy, set up for next to nothing and it's quick to maintain and update. Recently though I started getting more phone calls than I can cope with, my classes are full and I am not in a position to expand right now. Seems to me like I'm doing ok? NO! I'm working 2 full time jobs - one to pay the bills and the other (the Dance School) because I love it and it brings me a little extra cash.

But all that is about to change, and quickly. I did a little research on advertising on my website, just to see if I could make a bit of extra income - never thinking it would really come to anything. I stuck a couple of related links on my site and never thought any more about it. Then one day - completely out of the blue - I got an email informing me that there was a deposit in my bank account from one of my links. And guess what? It wasn't even on the home page, it was literally just a small text link in my About Me page.

So it gets me thinking, if that can happen once it can surely happen again? Wrong!

Since then nothing, zilch, zero. So what on earth am I doing wrong? What should I be doing?
Not one to give up easily I go and do a bit more research, and find out what I'm doing wrong, and what I should be doing. Starting here, starting now.

This is day one, I don't know how long it will take but watch this space. I will turn my tiny business into a huge success and you can follow my success here. I will even share my failures, mistakes and my tears as I go along. But I will succeed.

Step 1 - Get a website. It's cheap, it's easy and it's instant - you'll see it published in minutes. This package from 1&1 internet costs me £1.99 per month + vat. My domain name (website address) is £1.99 (+vat) per year. It includes a website builder so you don't even have to learn anything html or anything like that, it does everything for you.
